About Me
As of mid-March 2021, I have been a Lecturer in the School of Computer Engineering at the Suranaree University of Technology. Long before this, however, I was a full-time PhD student in the Department of Computer Science at the University of York in the UK. My PhD studentship was fully funded by the Royal Thai Government, the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST)—which was recently reformed and known as the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI)—in particular.
During my doctoral studies, I worked in the research group of Non-Standard Computation (NSC), under the excellent supervision of Professor John A Clark (who now works at the University of Sheffield) and Professor Richard F Paige (who has recently moved back to Canada, working at the McMaster University; and also continues to hold a part-time Professor position at York).
Besides, as a resident member of the York Cross-disciplinary Centre for Systems Analysis (YCCSA), my research aimed to verify the temporal behaviour of multicore embedded systems by using optimisation techniques. This work is part of the Dynamic Adaptive Automated Software Engineering (DAASE) project, funded by the UK Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC).
Honours and Awards
2022
Fellow of the Higher Education Academy
I have achieved the status of Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) in recognition of my attainment against the UK Professional Standards Framework (UKPSF) for teaching and learning support in higher education.
2019
NRCT Outstanding PhD Thesis Award
I am extremely honoured to be received the 2020 Distinguished Doctoral Dissertation Award in the category of Information Technology and Communication Arts by the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT).
2013–2017
Royal Thai Government Scholarship
I was awarded a scholarship by the Royal Thai Government, i.e. the Ministry of Science and Technology, for doctoral studies.
2012
Talent Network Scholarship
During my work as a civil servant at the Office of the Public Sector Development Commission (OPDC), I was awarded a scholarship by the Royal Thai Government for overseas training on ‘Leadership and Change’—a training course for young leaders organised by the Potsdam Centre for Policy and Management (PCPM), Potsdam, Germany.
2010–2012
High Performance and Potential System
I was selected to be in the High Performance and Potential System (HiPPS), which is a development programme held by the Office of the Civil Service Commission (OCSC) for the high potential government officials.
Research Interests
My research interests chiefly focus on non-standard methods of computation and optimisation, such as metaheuristics and hyper-heuristics, to tackle real-world problems. I am currently interested in applications of search-based optimisation approaches for software engineering (especially testing methods that can provide assurances where the computation is functionally and temporally correct), as well as for life and medical sciences (e.g. computational biology, healthcare information systems, health informatics and bioinformatics).

For Students
To all the prospective students who would like to be under my supervision, please consider the aforementioned research areas prior to contacting me. After you have found any topic choices related to your interests, we then need to work out together to identify a potential research topic that is really interesting to both of us. (Hint: you will find it very hard to put in the work required if you are actually not into the underlying topic.)
